The Food Systems Impact Change Maker Award, presented by Impact Circle, is a premier recognition of excellence and innovation in the transformation of global food systems. This award honors individuals, organizations, and initiatives that are at the forefront of addressing the critical challenges facing our food ecosystem—ranging from climate change and biodiversity loss to social inequality and food insecurity.

The award is designed to spotlight exemplary leadership, scalable solutions, and breakthrough ideas that are reshaping the way food is produced, processed, distributed, and consumed—toward a more sustainable, equitable, and resilient future.

Mission & Purpose

The mission of the Food Systems Impact Change Maker Award is to:

  • Recognize and amplify the impact of innovators driving positive systemic change.

  • Inspire a new wave of changemakers committed to equitable and climate-conscious food futures.

  • Create a platform for collaboration, investment, and knowledge exchange across the global food innovation ecosystem.

In doing so, the award supports the broader goals of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Climate Action (SDG 13), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Partnerships for the Goals (SDG 17).

Why It Matters

Our current food systems are both a source and a solution to many of the world’s most pressing problems. From greenhouse gas emissions and land degradation to malnutrition and inequity, how we produce and consume food has far-reaching implications.

By recognizing the bold thinkers and doers who are forging new paths, we:

  • Elevate awareness of scalable, system-wide solutions.

  • Build momentum for food systems transformation.

  • Empower communities, investors, and policymakers to act.

This award is not just a moment of recognition—it is a call to action for the world to invest in food futures that nourish both people

and planet.

Who We Celebrate

The award celebrates changemakers across the entire food systems value chain:

  • Innovative Farmers
Pioneering regenerative, climate-smart, and agroecological practices that restore ecosystems and improve yields.

  • Visionary Organizations & Startups
Driving systemic efficiency through agri-food innovation, circular economy models, and scalable tech-based interventions.

  • Community Leaders & Advocates
Championing food justice, sovereignty, and access, especially in underserved or marginalized communities.

  • Educators, Scientists & Knowledge Shapers
Conducting critical research, policy analysis, and public education to shift narratives and inform decision-making.

Each awardee represents a unique facet of transformation, from grassroots engagement to high-tech enterprise.
